PS3 'TIFF Exploit' follow-up from the GODS... - Mar 16, 2007 - 8:44 PM - by PS3News  
Tonight while wandering around iRC EFNet #PS3News we bumped into one of the GODS @ PDX for a minute. Since this past week has been a slow PS3 release/news week, here is some info that he shared with us regarding the 'TIFF Exploit' detailed in our Past News. To quote from the previous NFO File:

Based on that, the general consensus at the time was that a PS3 TIFF Exploit was found and being used by the GODS in order to run unsigned code on the PS3. However, after speaking with them tonight we were asked "btw why do all of you focus so much on tiff " and so we replied with the obvious- because of the TIFF TIFF reference above.  

To make a short story shorter... we learned from the GODS tonight that the TIFF TIFF reference wasn't intended to be a hint as to the exploit method they were using, but in contrast it being stated "bye bye (as in, no more) TIFF" those crazy guys!  

The next question on most PS3 DEVs minds (according to an informal poll in EFNet #PS3News) was the following: Is the PS3 exploit method PDX is using triggered via Linux, OtherOS, or the XMB?

Although we didn't get a complete answer, the GODS did confirm for us that it is NOT Linux... so now we're down to OtherOS or the XMB for those interested.  

Finally, some good news is that College Hoops 2K7, Armored Core 4, Virtua Tennis 3, Godfather: The Don's Edition, Elder Scrolls IV: The Oblivion, Calling All Cars!, and Mortal Kombat II are ALL due out prior to the March 23rd PS3 EUR release... and to quote, PDX assures us of the following: "will put some beter hint in next nfo " so exciting days are definitely ahead for PS3 owners!

PARADOX否定了通过TIFF 漏洞制作引导程序的,还有引导程序很可能是在XMB里运行的,到了欧版发行时,看来也不会有太大进展了,引导程序不知道要拖到什么时候发布了...

别的全是废话，就看见最后一段，说在3月23之前放出一大堆游戏。
