GameStop, the world's largest video game retailer, has revealed Microsoft's plans to release a special edition of "Gears of War" for Xbox 360 that, judging by the record's name, will include the “Hidden Fronts” Multiplayer Map Pack, which includes four post-launch multiplayer maps, plus Raven Down and Old Bones and the Annex game mode. According to GameStop, this "Gears of War with Maps" has a retail price of $39.99 and it is scheduled to ship on June 24, 2008.

Developed by Epic Games and published by Microsoft Game Studios, "Gears of War" is a third-person tactical action/horror shooter that thrusts players into humankind’s epic battle for survival against a nightmarish force of underground creatures known as the Locust Horde. This 4.7-million-selling blockbuster is one of the most popular Xbox 360 games in history.

This November, two years after the release of "Gears of War," Microsoft and Epic will release a sequel, "Gears of War 2," that picks up six months after the events of the first game.
