A ShackNews interview with Bethesda reveals that the company wanted to bring Elder Scrolls Oblivion to the Wii, but the system obviously doesn't have enough under the hood to support the game. This is unfortunate, as the control scheme might have contributed to quite a work out when level grinding. Peter Hines also gives insight as to how the company views rolling out its games on multiple platforms:
Our philosophy has always been that we don't believe in trying to design the game for a platform. Our philosophy is to [decide] what game we want to make, then determine which platforms can run that game ... It's not really going to run on a Wii for example, but if it could we would put it there.
Our philosophy is to make a game and make it available to as many people as possible. We're not looking to limit who can play a game. We want to make something that's fun and we want as many people as possible to play it.
