CRISTIANO RONALDO has tipped Wayne Rooney to lead Manchester United to the Premier League title next season. The World Player of the Year joined Real Madrid for ?0million from United last month.
And he believes England striker Rooney is the man who can fire his old club to a record 19th crown.
The Red Devils are tied with Liverpool on 18 championships after last term's triumph.
But Ronaldo, who hit 84 goals in 196 games in his time at Old Trafford, expects Rooney to fill his boots.
Ronaldo said: "For me they will still win the Premier League next year, and I hope for a long time to come.
"It is a league of amazing talent but for me the stand-out player is Wayne Rooney.
"His ability is fantastic but his attitude when he plays football is that he is willing to die for the team."
