Duties and responsibilities include:
Operations, management, and development on routers/switches/firewalls
(Linux and CISCO/HP equipment);
Hands-on troubleshooting and debugging of layer 2 and layer 3 issues;
Participating in the specification and implementation of global
networking standards and equipment configurations;
Implementing the best practices and procedures in all areas of network
operations;
Guiding and enabling the professional development of the technical staff;
Proposing, documenting and implementing processes for reporting,
auditing, and global network management;
Documenting technical procedures, standards, and policies;
Deployment and installation of new telecom connections and equipment (in
offices and in data centers);
Participating in linux system daily maintence
Openness to 24/7 pager duty;
General level 2/3 support.
PROFILE Skills and Experience
Note: A good basis of fundamental networking knowledge is more valuable
than experience with any particular platform, hardware, or vendor.
(Essential) 5+ years of networking experience in a network environment;
(Essential) Excellent interpersonal communication ability to communicate
in English or French essential;
(Essential) Strong organizational, analytical, and project-management
skills;
(Essential) Strong experience with open-source tools and operating
systems (OpenBSD/Linux);
(Essential) Ability to work under stress and in a 24x7x365 production
environment;
(Essential) Experience with Cisco equipment (routers and switches, IOS);
(Essential) Expert knowledge of networking layers 2 and 3;
(Essential) Knowledge of and experience with equipment/network concepts
(firewalls, proxies, security);

Job Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, at least 6 years of working experience in the software industry.
2. Excellent English communication skills, work experience in international companies a plus.

5. Experience in designing large server systems (social and gaming related) and managing technical teams of such systems.

Linux Systems Administrator
SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
Linux systems and services, with an emphasis on supporting production Web and database servers
Assist with scripting, task automation, and systems management infrastructure development and deployment
Assist development teams in deploying and debugging server-side software
Debug low-level systems and networks
Document technical procedures and policies
Remain on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
PROFILE
Skills and Profile
At least 5 years experience in Linux administration in a high-volume, critical production environment with an emphasis on supporting production Web and database servers
Experience with programming and/or scripting, task automation, and best security practices for server installation and administration
Good experience in Apache (HTTP), PHP and MySQL administration in a production environment (LAMP) required
Knowledge of Perl, PHP, Python, bash, etc., with experience building database-driven applications
Experience in low-level systems and network debugging (strace, sar, netstat, tcpdump)
Experience with Puppet and Subversion an asset
Good interpersonal and communication skills, and able to work in a team
Fluency in English and French (Asset)
Strong organizational and project management skills, as well as good analysis methodology
