Mazda has announced a new mobile application called Mazda Mobile Start.
The Japanese company says customers can conveniently control many of the car's settings through a smartphone. The application allows drivers to start and stop the engine, lock and unlock the vehicle, activate the climate control system, activate the panic alarm and find where the car is parked.
Mazda is asking 500 USD for the app, which is currently available only as a dealer-installed feature for the Mazda6 and the Mazda CX-5. Additional models will be added later this year. After the first year of service, the Mazda Mobile Start will require a 65 USD annual subscription.
