8.5 Presentation
A pleasing front-end offsets the iffy load-times, giving the game far more character than seen previously. Superb new “On Demand” service provides plenty to do outside of racing.
9.0 Graphics
Hardly a world apart from the two-year-old PGR3, but no one can deny the exquisite detail and immense beauty packed into each and every one of Gotham’s cities.
8.5 Sound
A varied selection of radio stations return, boasting everything from soothing classical music to slammin’ breakbeats. Engine effects prove loud and throaty, with excellent 5.1 placement and reverb.
9.0 Gameplay
As street racers go, there are few so varied and enjoyable. Car handling is fun and forgiving, while the bikes in particular surprise and impress.
9.0 Lasting Appeal
Two expansive single player modes, a far wider range of cars, bags of unlockables and some fab (not to mention funny) achievements will keep you going a fair while, in-between robust Live features.
