Michael Kelbaugh对媒体表示，wiiu的机能被外界唱衰，wiiu真正的机能非常强大，他称之为机能“核电厂”。

“不幸的是，任黑们老是说wiiu性能不强，这不是真的事实。wiiu是机能核电厂，对于整个开发团队，我们感觉对于wii来说这简直是一个飞跃。对于首次接触HD游戏开发乐趣无穷，像素着色器（pixel shading）非常好用，而且我们无需再担心多边形（polygons）数目，因为wiiu提供了你想多少有多少！”



"Unfortunately, the perception is that it's not a very powerful machine. That's just not true. It's a powerhouse. It's more than adequate to make great games on." He added that in working on a more powerful machine for Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, his team felt free from the "traditional limitations" of the Wii.

"It was really fun being able to crack that open for the first time and learning HD techniques; pixel shading, having a lot more horsepower and how that impacts the team," he said. "It was really fun to watch our artists just go crazy because now they didn't really have to worry about anymore. 'Make as many as you want!'"
