正好昨天Reddit AMA有类似的问题,等于《The Last of Us》制作人Bruce亲自回答你的问题了……

I want more games like The Last of Us- by which I mean games with thoughtfully written/performed characters, interesting aesthetics, and involved gameplay that utilizes the unique language of interactive media (e.g. how the exaggerated violence in TLOU's stellar combat system highlights the theme of survival).
But I'm worried this type of game can only come from a big budget studio like ND.
So what happens when the AAA bubble bursts and studios realize their big budget, new IP games can't make a profit in a market over-saturated with COD clones? The big guys like ND and Rockstar survive, but everyone else dies off (like irrational).
The global market is moving increasingly towards mobile development, and indie games lack the necessary budget to delivery the emotional, narrative experiences I crave (they can tell great stories in their own way, but no indie game has ever gut punched me like Ashley Johnson's mo-cap performance did.)
TL;DR
Do you think it's possible for mid/low-tier developers to deliver high quality games without the AAA budget? On talent and innovation alone? (I know tell-tale is great but they don't really do involved gameplay.)
To put it another way: Do you think the current ND team could create a great game (with emotion, story, and gameplay at least on par with TLOU) without the AAA budget?

well, first off there's a lot of assuming & hypothesizing there - IS the AAA market bubble going to burst? no one knows right? But yes, I do think there is an opportunity for devs to create the 'journeys' and 'rayman legends' that occupy that mid-tier, really well executed, fun games that GAMERS will buy. I can't speak to what's "mass appeal" but a developer's financial goal should be to at least sell enough of their creation to keep their company in the black, so they can get another crack at making another awesome, creative game they're passionate about.
I don't think mobile development is the future though. And I don't think the industry as a whole should put all their eggs into any ONE basket (nor do I think they are honestly). We need diversity. We need indie games, mid-tier games, AAA games, and mobile... I personally like those 2-3 hour experiences like what we just delivered with Left Behind, or the episodes of Walking Dead, but I also love the long form & the stories & adventures we're able to create. We looked at the SP campaign's story as being more like a TV series in it's structure. And TV is where great stories are really going... but I digress...
anyway, I'll step off my soapbox here... COULD ND make a great game without the AAA budget? - yes. but the next question would have to be "can that kind of game then support a studio of our size, with the talent we have??" hmmm.... doubtful?? I'm no business man, but we've built the studio on being able to turn out a certain level of quality games, that our fans have grown to love & look to us for.
anyway... Did I answer anything?? haha
