看了一遍，又读了那篇影评，还是有很多不明白。
胖子女偷听主角和物理老师谈时空旅行是怎么回事？胖子女戴的那对耳包子是什么寓意？
斯派罗婆婆是一直在等主角的信吗？斯派罗婆婆是不是一个manipulated living？
是不是除了2个manipulated dead和主角其他的都是manipulated living？
女主角是一直都在把主角引导向那个陷阱，这种引导是有意识的还是无意识的？
还有最关键的就是把引擎送还回主宇宙是个什么概念？retriever不是保留记忆的吗，那他回到主宇宙后，是不是就代表切线宇宙已经消失了？既然那他为什么不能躲开那个引擎呢？这样主宇宙还是会出现黑洞？？

还有，最后结尾，LZ通过虫洞的那个动画，在片子进行中还出现过一次，具体在哪段忘记了，用进度条搜不到，现在人在单位，又不方便重看一次。。。

(As the story is quite complicated here's a slightly more detailed version of the above answer. If anyone can send me other valid interpretations that stack up I will add them here)

Basically it was all about the corruption and the jet engine (the artifact).

The first jet engine appears from a future we don't see. In that future the engine falls or is torn from the plane and enters a corruption in space/time. Therefore the jet engine is in the future, then reappears in the past. This is the corruption , and the engine is therefore a sign of this. The corruption damages the fabric of space and time, and causes the countdown to the end of the Universe.



Donnie's role is to be motivated and learn enough to be able to route the engine back to the past, by creating or opening a wormhole to that same point in the past. Most of the film is about manipulating Donnie to do this, to the point where Gretchen is killed and Donnie can choose to save her and also end the corruption.



So, the engine appears in the same place it did the first time around, but this time it has a reason for its appearance, and it doesn't go to the past via the corruption. As there is no corruption the Universe is stable and saved.


In summary, first engine = corruption, second engine = wormhole, upshot... Universe saved。

怎么都想不明白这个。CPRRUPTION的原因我看不懂。
我是这么理解的。之前第一次落下来引擎是没有原因的，所以这是个CORRUPTION。让主角用虫洞把他送回去后，这出现就是有原因的了，所以宇宙就不会终结了？
可是这样的话，主宇宙里28天过后，那飞机还掉不掉？掉的话，不是多出来个引擎？

还有就是主角开虫洞的具体方法了，FAQ上只提到“时空旅行哲学”里写的那个用水，不过还是很难想象。
FAQ最下面时间线里最后一句是
17. Donnie perhaps removes the artifact (jet engine) from the plane, and changes its destination to the Primary Universe.
具体是怎么样完成的，当时主角不是在山上吗，怎么个操作法。

我在btchinas搜的，不知道还有种吗，LS可以去试试

  我不认为死亡婆婆是曾经的时间旅人。按FAQ里的说法即使主角也没有进行过所谓的时间旅行。时空旅行的序章里有提过这是她的一个预言。

那些都是Manipulated living，被控活体， 书里最后那页（Dream）也提到有的被控提会在主宇宙里保留一部分切线宇宙的记忆。

他是被被控死体，能力较强，可以使用四次元空间。所以是他先去把主角（被选中的“返还者"）引开,避免他死亡。
在切线宇宙里所以被杀的人都是被控死体，主角女朋友也是。
