Square Enix launched Final Fantasy 16 exclusively on the PlayStation 5 in mid-2023. The sales were pretty good, given it was launched on a single console, but Square Enix always has high expectations for its franchises.

So, the gaming giant finally released the game on PC in September to attract more players. However, the game seems to have severely underperformed on the platform, as it has sold only 289K units since its launch.

Why it matters: Square Enix launched Final Fantasy 16 on PC after over a year, killing the game’s hype and ultimately hurting sales.

pc玩家和主机玩家不一样

现在这个年代，延迟登陆pc，销量都好不到哪去，特别是FF16这种偏演出的游戏，都视频云通关了，还要买来自己通一遍？

同步的话大概卖100W，主要这系列在PC上已经没号召力了，7re的时候就差不多榨干了，现在几乎等于三线ip，还不如女神异闻录，而且PC玩家对单机游戏的要求极高，换汤不换药的粉丝向游戏不好卖 ，隔壁战神5也不咋的 。

这种帖子可以想象回复，必然是贬低游戏的质量，夸大PC玩家的品味。

但实际原因：这游戏有D加密，配置要求高。
